emailed korean girl's roommate, to see if she wanted to do something with me tomorrow.

she said she has an appointment tomorrow, sorry.

meh.

I also hate japanese work ethic. Real conversation I had with my boss.

"I want two days a week off work. I'm working 7 days a week 12 hours a day.. it's.. kind of hard."
"Well, see you get monday and thursday off."
"no I don't, I work from 9am to 1pm."
"see, that's basically a day off, it's only 4 hours."

"gee. well, I want the weekend off"
"well.. I guess it's ok, saturday or sunday?"
"..both."
"what?.. you mean.. saturday, or sunday?"
"..."

I responded to 20 year old with "oh, ok, see you later then. Tell your cat I love him for me"

She said "Ok, let's go out later ok? see you."

Because it's not for the money, it's for learning japanese.

You learn an amazing lot about japanese culture and working culture as well as language when you work at a job, even a crappy job.

I was going to a language school full time, then I realized working at a job for that long I improve my japanese 4-5 times faster as I could ever at a school.
plus I get to meet japanese people and whatnot.

I remember reading a story of yours once where you said you conquered some troubles then packed up and moved to Japan. Did you get a student visa while you were on a passport in Japan? I'm curious as to how you can stay in Japan for more than 90 days without a tourist passport.

Iceland isn't a part of the EU, so they use monopoly money.

No, we have the icelandic krona.

The smallest bill is 500kr ~= $8 ~= 5.8€

Largest bill is 5000kr.
