NL10: How to play TPGK against all-in from shortie?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
SB ($11.85) BB ($1.75) UTG ($12.15) UTG+1 ($10.15) Hero ($11) MP2 ($13.35) MP3 ($24.70) CO ($2.25) Button ($2.80) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.3</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Button calls $0.30, SB calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>. Flop: ($1) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $0.8</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $2.5</font>, SB folds, Hero ??? Table has been fairly tight, villain just played for a couple of hands. Do you think I should open-raise QJs from UTG+2? Is the size of my c-bet ok? Should I fold or should I insta-call beacause he is shortstacked? |

Re: NL10: How to play TPGK against all-in from shortie?
No, I don't think QJs is a hand I'd be raising unless I was in last couple of seats at a table or it was VERY tight. If you are going to raise, I'd make it 4x bb rather than 3.
On the flop, your cbet looks fine but $.70 would probably be better. The board is about as dry as they come so might as well go with a bit smaller. When he pushes there's no telling what you are up against, but since he's short and you are getting about 3:1 I'm not going to fold. |

With a QJs in an EP I'd rather limp hoping for a big pot and a great flop.
As played: call, this AI can be everything: weaker Q, 88, 99, TT(though he might have reraised PF then), overcards or simply desperation. |
