Absolute 2/4-3/6 game BBJ jackpot rake/ beatable?
Was looking over my stats for the last couple of months and I'm in the red at 2/4 and 3/6. Not by much and I just hit a 100bb downswing which probably doesn't help. Wondering if the 2/4 and 3/6 games are beatable at BBJ tables? The games are tough enough but with the extra rake is it pretty unbeatable?
Also- have been experimenting more with defending my BB and becoming more of a showdown monkey which could have something to do with my red numbers in PT. |

The rake there is already ridiculously high without the BBJ. I'm sure the games are beatable, but I don't think I'd play there.

Re: Absolute 2/4-3/6 game BBJ jackpot rake/ beatable?
I know it has been posted before, not sure how recent?
Could someone provide info on Absolute's rake compared to other sites at the 2/4-5/10 level. How big of an impact on WR does it have compared to other sites? I think most know the rake is a little higher, not sure how much higher than other sites? Most play for bonus/rb/pts for cash etc and hope to breakeven or win a little if they're multitabling. |

Re: Absolute 2/4-3/6 game BBJ jackpot rake/ beatable?
That was me for a long time...they just don't have as much bonus to justify it any more...plus they take fees off of rb now...plus they are generally shady and if I can play at a reputable site and it doesn't hurt the bottom line that much I'm gonna do it. Ok, sorry, you probably know all that, end of rant
FWIW here's the rake comparison: Stars $2/$4 to $100/$200 players $20 Pot $40 Pot $70 Pot 2-3 $0.50 $0.50 - 4-5 $1.00 $1.00 - 6-10 $1.00 $1.00 $1.00 AP $2.00/$4.00 2 $0.25 for each $5.00 in pot, maximum $1.00 $2.00/$4.00 3 to 4 $0.25 for each $5.00 in pot, maximum $2.00 $2.00/$4.00 5 or more $0.25 for each $5.00 in pot, maximum $3.00 $3.00/$6.00 2 $0.50 for each $10.00 in pot, maximum $1.00 $3.00/$6.00 3 to 4 $0.50 for each $10.00 in pot, maximum $2.00 $3.00/$6.00 5 or more $0.50 for each $10.00 in pot, maximum $3.00 $5.00/$10.00 2 $1.00 for each $20.00 in pot, maximum $1.00 $5.00/$10.00 3 to 4 $1.00 for each $20.00 in pot, maximum $2.00 $5.00/$10.00 5 or more $1.00 for each $20.00 in pot, maximum $3.00 Obviously the main differences are that just about every hand at 2/4,3/6 is raked and you get hit for the extra dollar on big pots 5 handed. |

The way to beat the BBJ game is to hit the jackpot, like Miles. Easy-peasy...

Re: Absolute 2/4-3/6 game BBJ jackpot rake/ beatable?
westley/ilp did some calculations.
3-6 and below, forget about it 5-10, it still hurts, but that's where I start playing them, once the BBJ is at about 150 or so |

Re: Absolute 2/4-3/6 game BBJ jackpot rake/ beatable?
Hip-thanks, yeah I pretty much assumed it was unbeatable at those levels (at least for a decent WR anyways)
Wouldn't be bad if the other tables weren't filled with 2+2ers LOL |
