What's the exact number got to with whether the hand is played well or not? You're getting too results-orientated here and top pair top kicker is often good, isn't it? |

Re: Sbrugby on 300-600 NL.
um the exact number matters b/c if you raise it from 18k to say 1 million, the guy is gunna be calling you w/ a narrow range, and thus the play is -EV for you.
I'm just saying hypothetically. IDK what the situation was here, and frankly it is prolly not important. Wat is important is brian blaming everything on a bad run. I mean, is he gunna blame it on running bad until his BR reaches 0? Even if you can beat the game w/ ease, you need to step down if your BR cant handle it. Either that or get backed. I hope Brian wises up when and if the situation comes up. IDK anything about his financials, so I assume he is using his discretion, and thinks playing 3/6 is okey. |

Maybe brian just made alot of crazy bluffs and expected the guy to call him lighter or whatever.. I dunno, maybe it was stupid and he was tilted but you cant really say anything about it.. since there is not really a standard way to play it. its really funny, everyone thinks hes god when he runs good and destroys the games, but when hes on a ds, everyone suddenly thinks he has a problem and should quit poker.. And he said on his blog he moved down, and doesnt play hu games any higher then 50/100NL and hes trying to find leaks, So i dont get where all the hate is coming from. |

Re: Sbrugby on 300-600 NL.
[ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ] What bankroll do you need to play 300-600 when one of the supposed best player obviously can have a downswing of 1 500 000 USD in about 4300 hands? Is 20 000 000 USD big enough? Maybe some of the un-known players who play Brian actually have much bigger bankroll than that? I don't know, but they should have. There are some players who have been winners in the highest live games for decades and I would be a bit surprised if this quite loaded players with a lot of experience in terms of variance, would not try to grab Brian's money. The history of how easy Bobby Baldwin caught Brian bluffing at Bellagio was maybe significant. I doubt that any “online” pro are loaded enough for this game no matter how good they are because of the big variance. |

Re: Sbrugby on 300-600 NL.
sodom what ur saying makes no sense, GL at trying to get 90k hands live in... you play waaay waaay more hands online, and you have way more variance (since more hands). Live players are usually more fishy, and more players with lots of money losing it because they can.

Re: Sbrugby on 300-600 NL.
when brian wins hes the best player in the world.
when brian loses hes on a downswing. 25 buy-ins in under 5k hands is sick no matter what the stakes are. sodom brought up a great point. with the nosebleed games being incredibly aggressive (stacking off lightly with top/mid pair, flush/straight draw on the turn etc.) i dont think any traditional bankroll management rules apply to these games. |
