Default NL10 -> NL25: Bankroll

I'm sure this question is tough to answer and has been asked different ways millions of times but I'm hoping to find a response that will really show me the light. I've now played about 2000 hands at NL10 on Pokerstars and FullTilt. I've had a decent win rate (around 7 BB/100) and seem to be doing just fine. The only problem is that the dollar amount I'm ahead isnt what I'm looking for...I've used the bankroll calculator and with my winrate and standard deviation numbers from PokerTracker I seem to be very consistent and dont need to large of a bankroll from what the calculator says. Is there any reason not to try NL25?? My bankroll is a shade short of $300. Should I set a mark to eclipse and if I do, then move up? I want to increase my winnings with virtually no increase to the chance of me going bust. I know this is tough to answer but any honest help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

300 is a bit low to be taking shots at 25NL if you've never played it before. How the crap have you been winning at 7ptbb/100 for 20k hands and you only have $300? Did you start with like $50 or something?

I would at least wait till you get to $400, but $500 is more safe. In my last 20k hands of NL$20 I have experienced two 5 buy-in downswing, and 4.5 buy-in downswing, fortunately Im up 18 buy-ins after all that variance, so no matter how well you're doing right now you are gonna get bad streaks and its smart to have enough cushioning in place.

*Had my downswing numbers double what they really were. Sorry.

downswings can happen to the best players. I would definitely recommend a 20 buy in roll before you move up. I won't say the game changes much between NL10 and NL25 but it might be enough to point out the leaks in your game and you'll see your winrate might not be as good.

At 7ptbb for 20,000 you should have winning s just short of $300. Did you start with $0??? I moved up to 25NL after running 7ptbb for 20,000 and there are definetly difference between the two. I had a nice 3BI streak at the start, then blew 6 BI, got it back, then went down 4BI from my initial amount. It was a real rollecoaster but I think i've adjusted pretty well now and I'm up 10BI overall.

At the lowest point I had $370 from my initial $500 roll with which I took a shot and I was one BI away from moving back down. Just wait till you have the roll to do it.

ok those are some good answers yes my winrate is about 7BB/100 hands, big bet in this instance is considered double the big blind by my pokertracker....yes I actually started from 5 dollars transferred to me by a friend...I played for a few years before taking a long term break and have now been going strong for serveral months.....thanks for the responses so far
