Default NL cash game selsection?

I currently play 100nl on ftilt, started with a low bankroll so the way i selected what games to play in, was looking for short stacks ie $40-$60.My reasoning was 1/ if they were any gd there,d buy-in for the max so i figured there either looking for a quick buck/or tilting or playing above there means. 2/By only playing short stacks i was only putting a small amount of my br on the line. Now that my br has grown am looking to sit down with full stacks, have heard of datamining to identify winning and losing players(sixth sense) does anyone do this? Is it worthwhile?

In my experience, you can tell fairly quickly whether or not a person is someone you want to sit against. I've done a bit of dataming, and it's helped, but I tend to just sit and play 15 hands to see for myself.

I just started using my HUD and I like to find people who call a lot of PFRs (preferably OOP although very +EV adjustments can be made if they have high PFR IP, so either works). High VPIP is also another sign, or incredibly low VPIP/PFR.

I've been checking Sharkscope for players I haven't yet played, you've got to take it with a grain of salt but in general the SnG winners are decent cash game players. If they have a mediocre to decent sharkscope I'll feel 'em out but if they are crushing SnG's, I have no reason to believe that they are bad cash game players.

Obviously nobody should take this personally, instead they should be flattered that someone declines to play them because they are just too good. It should be standard for two good players to stay away from eachother, especially in HU matches.

Some tips on bad opponents

They typically have names like: hgd3556; players with clever names, such as "ImAllinSuckIt" are solid

Bad players buy in for odd ammounts

On full tilt, players with the halloween avatars usually are bad.

Quick glance read I use: If a player is sitting at multiple tables, do not play.

As was said before, people who don't buy in full are much more likely to be bad. They are somewhat more likely to be hit and runners, but I've seen multiple people who were bad buy in for half a buyin 3 or 4 times after busting.
