Re: super ssnl question with answers that might differ a lot?
the nice thing about being on the defensive in spots like this is that you keep your range pretty undefined. any scare card that slides off is scarier for him than it is for you since you have position and are probably more likely than not to have hit you. so when you call the flop the turn and river play often just develop for you. the toughest spot imo is when he goes bet bet shove when it bricks off. when that's the case i usually just pay him off since AA is the biggest pair there is, and a lot of the time he winds up with J high and "can't" check so he jams.
if the turn is an 8 or 7, i fold. anything else i call, including diamonds to see what he does on the river. 2 or 3 are tough because they're good bluffing cards for him since they look scary, but if he's any good he can also value bet a set and 2 pair twice. so i either call both turn and river, barring a diamond river, or i fold the turn. |

Re: super ssnl question with answers that might differ a lot?
[ QUOTE ]
Hmm i'm learning something new. I usually raise flop 100% here to protect our hand since opponent could be donking into alot of draws. Maybe that's a leak for me? I don't know.. But then again, why aren't we raising here since his range could also include draws and not just sets/2pairs/straights. Or is it because if we assume villain can shove with his whole range here (draws, sets, the nuts, pair+fd, etcc) have a decent equity against AA thus we should wait to raise a blank turn instead? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think raising here leaks, especially not given preflop's standard(without knowing size) bet & call. |

Re: super ssnl question with answers that might differ a lot?
Hey Ben, I usually call flop and raise safe turn / call safe turn depending on how he's playing. If he can 3 bet a draw or w/e on turn, get it in, if he's a donk, call again and prb again on the river, and if he's solid, I'd try to find a river fold if the turn card wasn't too terrible.
Also, knowing if he can turn his hand into a bluff is good too, or if he'll check something like 76ss to see if you check AKdd back, instead of shoving to try to fold an overpair (which if draws miss is probably not all that great of a bluff). |

Re: super ssnl question with answers that might differ a lot?
oops forgot that i had made this post, was pretty drunk and was talking to sharpobject about this on the way home from the club. anywayz doesnt it strike anyone that most options here, mainly calling (which is what i would do too obv) are retardedly exploitable? i cant make sense of this hand, even if i actually just made it up, which i did. calling lets his range ABUSE your range hardly (AA is obv in the very top of it, and you are just calling? how profitable is this move with any two in his spot then, if that is the case?) i am dissatisfied with all options.

err, if he's donking these kinds of textures extremely often "taking advantage of your passivity" then you will start raising with air + AA more...?
