Re: According to the bible, when was the human race created???
On the 6th day. The sixth day literally used to mean the sixth day, but then science stepped in and said wait, you're FOS, the earth is actually very old, so the sixth day became a "figurative" six day. Then scientists stepped in again and said, wait, you're FOS again, we weren't created out of dust at all, there's strong evidence that we evolved. So the sixth day became the moment in time at which God infused the ape brain with human awareness.
Hope that helps. |

Depends on who you talk to. The fundamentalists, who you have to respect more than the quaverers, say around 6000 years, and this is based on the lineages given in the bible. They believe in a literal six days.
The non literalists have no freaking clue. |

BIBLE Last (that is after everything else - approximately correct)
SCIENCE Depending on what you mean by human - bumkissing taxpayers or civilized man around 7000 BC (archeology) - recognizably us skeletonwise around 200,000 BC - more human than apes skeletonwise around 2,000,000 BC. According to my late mother sometime in the remote future if we last long enough. |

Re: According to the bible, when was the human race created???
The fundamentalist six day interpretation can be thrown out the window, for the same Bible says: "that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" (2 Pet. 3:8; cf. Ps. 90:4)
So there you have it. Its all open to interpretation. As far as Creation is concerned, the only thing a Christian can't hold to be true is the theory of polygenism. |

According to the bible, when was the human race created, alternatively according to scientists when did the "beginning" of the human race start..... [/ QUOTE ] Read the book A Matter of Days by Hugh Ross. He accepts that the universe is 13.7 by, the earth 4.5 by, and shows how it is in accord with theology, Jewish and Christian, since the first century, and also with the Bible. In a word, he makes Phil look like a total ninny. |
