[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I was probably ~5% body fat. [/ QUOTE ] lol no...but I understand what you're talking about. [/ QUOTE ] Yes uh 5% bodyfat is like a serious medical condition for men, I think. [/ QUOTE ] not sure about this, I remember an NFL wide receiver who was touted as having 3% BF, also read an article in Tennis magazine where the author claimed to have been tested at 3% |

i only read the first post so i what i say here might have been said dozen of times about now...
being overweight IS a problem! it leads to many many many wellfare diseases. practicly EVERY disease where normal people suddenly suffer from , INCLUDING MANY FORMS OF CANCER !!!!, is caused by malnutrition and zero excersise. I here include alcohol and other drugs as well, and alcohol is one of the more toxic! (tho commonly accepted to use) so when you eat your mcdonnalds for the third time this week, think about what you are doing |

[/ QUOTE ] My mother works in a kidney dialysis center and sees this kind of thing in her patients as a normal part of her workday for years now. I'm going to put her experience over your theory on this one. You're wrong on the amputation and you're wrong on this too. |

Few more things to add:
1. Mom wont talk to me now until I "apologize" for saying the food she buys for my little bro is makin him fat. (those 3 bags of doritos he eats a week just arent part of the problem (sw). 2. Was walkin out of Golds yesterday after working out and saw a sign that said, "Diets dont work, This does" and it was a sign for their stupid body pump classes. I seriously thought about askin the owner if he truly believed that. When gyms and trainers promote that crap over a good diet, it really shows the problems we live with. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'd wager that these people don't take care of themselves. modern Western medical care is a great thing. Though the blindness be for real. Losing hands etc. Here's the wiki page: "Amputation Persons with poorly controlled diabetes often heal slowly, even from small cuts, abrasions, blisters, or separated callus (corns). The underlying cause of this healing problem is impaired circulation, which in diabetics is usually adequate to support normal tissue function but which may be inadequate for the additional circulation required to support tissue healing. In such cases, the damage, if unnoticed, left untreated, or failing to heal, can result in an infection. The resulting infection, in extreme cases, can necessitate to amputation." I think poorly controlled would be sufficient to say they aren't taking care of themselves. But this is becoming an esoteric tangent. |
