A real draft threat is just what this nation needs. No exemptions, no deferments, nothing. Every man and woman aged 18-36 should be eligible. We'll see where the chicken-hawks stand when they may have to do more than put a few "Support Our Troops" and "W" stickers on their SUVs.

You’ll see people rise up - they’ll be out burning cars in the streets. There will be some policy changes pretty damn quickly.

So our leaders are even considering these two options: (1) nuclear weapons which will affect thousands of innocents, or (2) enslaving Americans to fight against their will.

Maybe you should read a little more into it. These aren't the considerations made by a free state which believes in liberty, democracy, and self-determination.

I wish they would start a draft, it's the only way to provoke the public into ending the war. But that's why it won't happen.

The middle class sits in university libraries playing minesweeper, while the poverty draft sends other families' kids to be cannon fodder for empire.

I'm brainwashing my kids into choosing jail over the draft, so I personally don't fear conscription. ;-)
