Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
Can't somebody hack Fido into Madden? That would settle it, right?

You dont need to cover the whole field though, thats why i didnt really think lining the guys up to cover the whole fieltd was the best option. [/ QUOTE ] Explain. You certainly do need to or the 40mph dog easily goes the hole you left in the coverage. You can't blindly assert this, give us a clue! |

Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
I didnt make the comparison about an NFL returner is the whole point, its been made 10 times in the thread to show that a dog can run faster, accelerate better, and corner better then something that has an impossible chance of completing a task. I cant imagine any human being better than about 10,000 against an NFL team to do this, so you are saying a dog is in the magnitude of thousands more capable of completing this task? The problem is this a poker forum and a bunch of unathletic overweight people who dont realize how truly gifted an nfl player is.

[We both agree it will come down to one guy v the dog in the open field. [/ QUOTE ] and the dog wins that one every time! |

Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
do you really think that is the way to play defense against a dog to just stand in a line spaced evenly, wait for the dog, and if it gets past, it automatically will score?

[/ QUOTE ] Most NFL formations are either a V or a an upside own U shape, the point is to funnel the runner into the middle of the scrimmage, in teh V formation you funnel the runner to the sidelines, and in the upside down U you funnel them into the middle wear the bodies are, you stagger your players so you have a "head start" in funneling the object to where you want it to go. W/ no blockers blocking for the dog, it is very easy to funnel the animal to basically wherever you want it to go. You dont need to actually cover ever spot on teh field you just have to figure out teh best formation to make the dog go where you want it to go, which would be a trivial exercise for an NFL coach. |

do you really think that is the way to play defense against a dog to just stand in a line spaced evenly, [/ QUOTE ] Pls just give us your magical way for the NFL team to win instead of keeping it a big secret! I did not assert that's what the NFL team should do, but several have incorrectly said there's only 5' and 7' of space so the dog can't get through. I corrected them. Also, you have no idea exactly how much harder it will be to tackle the dog, after all, that's the point of this thread. Continuing to compare the dog to a 6' person is dumb. |

Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
Has anyone in here played Tecmo Super Bowl and played as Barry Sanders? Think of that, but even faster and more acceleration.

Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
I was commenting on the comparison, not making it. What guids said is pretty close to the right answer with a funnel type formation.

Re: Who will win: Dog or Football team?
After reading this thread, I have no idea who would win. They should add this event to those dog competitions that they have on animal planet. It would be interesting to see.
