NL50 preflop scenario questions
I am just starting to play poker again after a long hiatus. I thought it would be interesting to get feedback from people on the best way to play certain hands preflop at 6 handed FTP NL50. To narrow the scope of the topic, let's assume hero is in the BB position in all scenarios. BB is an interesting position because it is where we lose the most $$$ compared to other positions at the table, correct? Please indicate whether each situation is a raise, call, or fold, or if it is heavily read-dependent. Let's also assume 6 100 BB stacks. Players not mentioned below are folding.
Thanks for the feedback everyone 1) AQo vs UTG limp, UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and CO call 2) AQs vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and button reraise 3) 66 vs UTG raise to 3.5BB 4) JJ vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and CO reraise to 12 BB 5) QQ vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5 BB and CO reraise to 12 BB 5) JQs vs UTG limp, button raise to 3.5 BB 6) KQs vs UTG+1 limp, MP raise to 3.5 BB, button cold call |

Re: NL50 preflop scenario questions
1) AQo vs UTG limp, UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and CO call
My first instinct on this one is to say call, but now that I'm thinking about it a re-raise might be even better, especially since we're going to be OOP postflop. 2) AQs vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and button reraise Depends on my read on the button. I might fold if he's a nit, or call if he's not. If I spike my A I'd lead and call most raises and re-evaluate on the turn. 3) 66 vs UTG raise to 3.5BB Call. 4) JJ vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5BB and CO reraise to 12 BB Call, be ready to fold if overcards flop. 5) QQ vs UTG +1 raise to 3.5 BB and CO reraise to 12 BB 4-bet. 5) JQs vs UTG limp, button raise to 3.5 BB Fold due to position. 6) KQs vs UTG+1 limp, MP raise to 3.5 BB, button cold call Call... maybe 3-bet sometimes. |

Re: NL50 preflop scenario questions
1) 3bet
2) Fold 3) Call 4) Call 5) 4bet 6) 3bet 2/4/6 should be mixed up the most and should include a range of fold/call/raise depending on opponents and some random factors as well. |

Thremp, I mostly agree with you, but you're reraising QJs?

Thremp, I mostly agree with you, but you're reraising QJs? [/ QUOTE ] Hrm. It appears there are 2 #5s. Let me revise. 5a) 4bet 5b) Fold/Call depending on stats or raiser. Positional disadvantage needs to be weighed huge in this, if just learning obv fold. If a donk raises, perhaps call and see what happens. |
