Don't underestimate intelligence. NFL players should be pretty decent at predicting the dog's movement and positioning themselves appropriately.

I think the most interesting way to look at this is to make the rules that the football players have to get a hold of the dog without striking it hard in anyway. I agree if they're allowed to clothesline the dog, or dive onto it really hard they should have a good chance. But if they have to grab the dog w/o striking it, I don't think they have a chance. It would be like 11 lions trying to catch a gazelle in the open range. Not gonna happen.

You don't know what clothesline is? Basically they would lunge out and swing their arm into the dogs chest as hard as they could as it was running by. Probably flipping it, and then the other guys could pile on.

yes suzzer i know what a clothesline is but for example my dogs chest is about a foot off the ground, I would have to be laying prone to clothesline her.

I could stop the dog by myself. No need for an NFL football team.

Or just lunging low and shooting out parallel to the ground. I've done it to my dog when she was driving me nuts running around while we were trying to watch a movie. Flipped her right in the air. She yelped and peed(sp?) herself a little. I felt very bad.
