Re: Dealing with the \'and then?\' problem
60 some posts and very little mention of God with a capital "G". Even if you are a devout atheist you have to know that millions of people in this world find the answer to the meaning of life question through God. Maybe there is something there that you should explore.

"I think that people who worry about figuring this stuff out instead of just doing stuff usually end up getting depressed and just digging mental holes to trap themselves in."
I wanted to try and say exactly this, props ElD. |

GW,
Once you realize that 95% of life is just BS, act accordingly. I wish I could articulate this better but thats all I got for now. |

Re: Dealing with the \'and then?\' problem
Gild,
It seems like once a month you are looking for advice with this problem or something similar, as if you are asking our blessing to do what you feel is right. Search deep, you have the answer in you, and despite all our suggestions, that is the decision you will ultimately come to. You have a strong head, whatever you decide will be right. Dont worry what others will think of you, what you think of you and your happiness is more important. |

Gild, have you ever considered that the flaw is not in the answers, or lack thereof, but in the question itself? |

Re: Dealing with the \'and then?\' problem
The meaning of life is to engage in circular debates on an Internet message board about Dealing with the 'and then?' problem.

Re: Dealing with the \'and then?\' problem
I've been reading a lot of books about how the human mind works lately... those have helped a lot with understanding why we are the way we are.

Re: Dealing with the \'and then?\' problem
"Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked. In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible."
http://www.webwinds.com/frankl/frankl.htm you'll be just fine Gild, and you WILL find your answers. Just asking the questions is good enough for now. |
