My GF remembers this episode and says it was on a few months ago or perhaps last year or something.
So I would think Brian himself might have found out about it by now.
I also seem to remember a discussion about how badly this episode portrayed poker-players when it first aired. Maybe in the internet forum, not sure.

It does a terrible job of portraying real poker, but what tv show/movie has? not many

Yeah, I know.

I haven't seen the episode and I only skimmed a couple posts in that thread because I didn't really care that much.

But naturally there are going to be some people who partway freak-out "OMGZZZ...they're making poker look REALLY bad. There's no way we'll get the UIGEA repealed now!!"

Read the cliff-notes post to my GF and, as I suspected because she watches that show all the time, she immediately knew which show I was talking about. But, of course, the fact that a character's name on that show was Brian Townsend meant absolutely nothing to her.
