A Best Buy stare down? WTF.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was kinda the whole joke about it. It was like 7th grade-style and is the only funny part about it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Then what was so "blood-boiling" about the situation?

Odds are 1 in 570 that he would even have considered getting back in line at this point unless I run and tell the manager.

And I don't know how the black thing got started.

El D is right. This happens all the time. And it almost never ends in a fight. If you point out the line and he doesn't get in it, you follow him up to the register and say "I'm next in line" when he tries to pay. Make it Best Buy's problem.

I would definitely say something in this situation, not because I am a badass or even because it really matters all that much, but I hate letting ass holes get away with assholish behavior, and I'm not a "let it slide" type person.

I was thinking villian was mexican the whole time. In a rare and hard-to-execute triple-level, I'm going to use a poker analogy: OP, you weakly called when clearly raising or folding were the best options.

For reference, I once had a guy do this at a Dunkin Donuts.

One line waiting for three registers,
Guy walks in and walks right up to a register and starts ordering.
"Excuse me? Do you realize you just cut everyone in this line (which was around 8 deep)?
"Mind your own [censored] business!"
"I am minding my own business. You just cut me and everyone else in this line."
"[censored] you!"
"...says the guy who just cut everyone in this line."

Guy grabs his coffee, turns to me and says "Come on outside and I'll cut your [censored] throat" as he heads to his work van.

"I'll be right out. I'm still waiting my turn in line."

Needless to say, even though this guy was a bit bigger than me and got pretty rabid near the end, alas he was not outside when I exited.

In fact, afterwards I was impressed with his improvisational use of 'cut my throat' as a response to my 'cut in line'.

We were both white and doughy, if that means anything...

That guy is the Alpha Male of shopping lines. He just does what he wants and exudes confidence.

He probably read some PUA material and figured all the girls would love this kind of Alpha move. OP got amogged...maybe he's the one that needs to read the PUA material now.

See, it's applicable to more than just one night stands!

When I was at Comic-Con, I cut right in front of a huge line of nerds waiting to get into the Family Guy panel. I laughed as I heard the choruses of "hey no cutsies" and "i'll kick your ass" as I waltzed right in without incident.

No, I don't think I'm a badass, and yes, I'm an [censored]. No way in hell I was waiting in line for 4 hours to see Seth McFarlane do Stuey for an hour.

I was at a local kabob place last night and something similar happened. I called in an order prior to my arrival (this is key when ordering food, btw) and waited in the unorganized bitch of a line. I'd been waiting in line for about 10 minutes and am next up when a guy swoops in out of nowhere and says "Hi I called in my order" and I'm like wtf, I did that too. So I said something to cashier and the customer says "But I called in my order" and I said "Yeah I did too" and then he apologized.

Easy.
