Chick coming to visit me in Boston: What to do?

If she's really outdoorsy you can take here somewhere up on the North Shore. I've been to Rockport a few times and enjoyed it. There's a small village with shopping and places to eat. You can get there on the Commuter Rail out of North Station. As a plus you can stop at Manchester-by-the-Sea on the way back and go to the beach.

You could also try Walden Woods but I'm not sure about public transportation up there.

Honestly, wasn't the post the other day of the poor bastard who thought just being from Boston was a brag enough. You guys will NEVER be as cool as NYC no matter how much you try. If I was to call this chic right now and ask her if she would prefer to stay with me for a few days in NYC and go to a show and out to a few fine meals she'd be excusing herself out of seeing you faster than you can say The Curse of the Bambino.

Boston has a few world class art museums. Suggest them or use them for a rainy day plan.

Walk the Freedom Trail or part of it.

Boston Harbor Islands is an outdoor part of the city no one usually goes to. Look online for a schedule of when the boats go to various islands.
