I have simply had enough of the Rockies killing my bets against them. Stop it. [/ QUOTE ] Dude. The secret is to bet on the Rockies. (+102 looks awesome tonight) |

We already have Ubaldo Jimenez in there who shouldn't be a major league starter.... I have no idea who's going to take Hirsh's spot.... better not be Buckholz but then again no one else in the minors is ready. Ugh. When does Lopez get back? [/ QUOTE ] Lopez could very well be done for the season. Agreed that Jimenez isn't the ideal 5th starter and should've gotten more time in the minors, but at least he has some pretty good stuff (however raw he is). Who knows? Maybe we claim another starter? Would Wells even consider coming here? I bet Jimenez has a pretty decent start tonight after his unlucky start against Atlanta. I really hope Francis/Cook/Fogg keep pitching well because there is no doubt our 4/5 spots are suspect at best right now. |

Not with Jimenez pitching it doesn't. Kid might give up 6 runs in the first two innings.

He has four starts, and the first three he went 5/2, 7/3, 6/2... and against Atlanta he still struck out 7. I mean, I have no confidence in him taking the ball for a playoff game or something but he's competent anyway. |

I think in 2-3 years he could be a very good starter, but right now he is inconsistent. |

actually the rockies lineup is about 52 times better then the philles lineup [/ QUOTE ] Meh, maybe as of late, but over the whole season, the Phils have a .461 slugging % to the Rockies .428 and have scored 45 more runs than the rockies, so the Phils probably have the better lineup overall. Random thought: An NL playoff year with the Brewers, Rockies, Phillies, and D-Backs would be pretty sweet.... 4 teams that you don't see in the playoffs often. If I had to make a prediction though I think it will be the Braves, Mets, Cubs and Padres though. |

Phils lineup is better offensively, without a doubt. The Rox are much, much better defensively though and that more than makes up for the slight offensive difference.
