LOL, you are confusing japan and korea with china. I have to asume that the people that own computers in china would not be fishes.

most smart successful people that play poker are fish, most simply don't want to learn how to win

Hmmm...thinking about a possible business plan here. For $20/month, you will send a Chinese customer a CD with VPN software that will allow him to VPN out to Australia and use terminal services to connect to a server there that would allow him to play internet poker. The government could do absolutely nothing about it since no poker traffic is entering the country, only encrypted TS data.

hmmm...anyone wanna go partners?

I think there may be some religious reasons for some Indians not to gamble, I work with a guy and he isnt meant to gamble and they are not allowed to earn interest on money in the bank either.

Are you serious about the interest on their bank accounts?

Wow, what a retarded religion.

Why does God care about "interest?" I don't get it.

There is a link Here that gives a basic explanation.

There has been a lot of growth in this market in the UK as an Islamic Bank of Britain has been setup as well as a number of the regular banks setting up compliant accounts.

More detailed explanation of the concepts

FWIW I am a pro and I live in China. I have yet to find a blocked site. The reason nobody plays is that there is no interest. Try finding a hold 'em game in Macau. It's impossible.

If your theory would be correct, most American pros should already have been pushed out by Russians since the smartest Russians would have an incentive to become online pro while the smartest Americans have better options elsewhere, thus giving the Russians an edge. However, the clue is that the smartest Russian (as well as the Indians, Chinese etc.) have much more lucrative ways of making money available than poker. Thus, online poker pro becomes a job for middle-smart people from multiple countries and no very smart people will choose it regardless of nationality. So it is thus, IMO, never going to get really tough (at least I hope so, because I plan to play for many years ).
