its his money. Besides, let the dealers in on some the action. Don't be such a miser.

Re: watching someone else overtip
If someone is intentionally failing to tip there is nothing you will say that will really encourage her.
In the case of the person (or persons) who fails to tip out of ignorance of tipping customs, it is pretty easy to pose a question to the table like; "I wonder how the custom of tipping when you win the pot got started? It makes alot of sense doesn't it? The winners pay the dealers salary and the losers don't have to feel bad about not tipping." That way you can indicate proper etiquette without insulting anyone. |

Re: watching someone else overtip
saying something would be like saying something to another player in a hand that you're not involved in. You have no right to cost that dealer any money not coming from you.

Re: watching someone else overtip
LOL. I would have straddled ASAP (the next hand if possible) and promised the dealer another $15 (just like the my buddy) if he hits me right. You missed an excellent opportunity to try to turn your game into a spewfest. Obvious nittiness like this is penny wise and pound foolish.
If I could, I'd try to create a craps/roulette atmosphere at any table I'm at. IMO, this is helping, not hurting, that atmosphere. And for what its worth, happy well tipped dealers can help create that atmosphere better than anyone at the table. |
