Re: NL10 - 55 in BB
Waiting to the river here makes no sense, esp. on this board. What worse hands call, and what better hands fold? You're not likely to get paid of by AK, there are no worse PPs than yours, and there's a good chance you get looked up by any other PP.
If you're looking to bluff him off a PP, I'd do it on the turn when there's still the threat of future betting to convince him to fold. If you're looking to extract from AK, I'd still do it on the turn. You're likely to have gotten as much as you could out of him, so you might as well protect against an overcard falling. |

What, what?
I raise preflop. A lot of folks prefer limp-calling like you did. You can probably fold the flop, but leading a dry board or calling a c-bet are not particularly bad. You can definitely check-fold the turn. On the river, at NL10, bluffing isn't going to get you very far. I hope you took this one down, though while preflop is debatable, I don't really like your line anywhere postflop. |

5-handed, this is an easy raise pre-flop. Hand plays much different (and easier) post flop.

Re: NL10 - 55 in BB
I was hoping I was against overcards but his turn bet made me think maybe he had a better pp, so that's what I was trying to fold with the dual scare card in a possible straight and flush with the river.
I figured this was a nasty hand.. |

Re: NL10 - 55 in BB
The problem is both the straight and flush draws would be runner runner. He's less likely to believe you called the flop with no hand and no legit draw only to hit on that river.

raise pf, as played just c/c river...only way to get paid of by worse and minimise loss from better

Re: NL10 - 55 in BB
On the flop, I think leading, check-calling, and checkraising are all legitimate options. In the cases of leading and checkraising, I'm shutting down if called. If I check-call the flop, I probably check the turn and then fold if Villain bets again (I do think leading a blank turn is another option, but if we're going to do that, we might as well have checkraised the flop instead).
Anyway, as played, I probably check the river and make a decision. If Villain bets much, I'm folding. It sounds like your lead was sort of a bluff, but I don't see what it represents, besides a slowplay and I guess maybe 33. (How in the world did a flush or straight get this far?) |
