$25NL - FR: Lost w KK on scary board
Intro: Villain just played one orbit at this table. On his 3rd hand, he limps UTG w K8s and calls a raise behind him. He flops 2nd-pair + Flush draw and bets out 2/3rd pot, gets raised and he shoves. He gets called and improves his hand to get the big stack. He was not involved in other hands aside from that. I've not been involved in any hands since Villain sat down either.
Preflop: I make a standard raise Flop: Flop is very scary and when he bets out strongly, my guess is that at the very least, he has AQ or KQ. Aside from that, he may have 2-pair, a set or a combo draw. I decide to call and re-evaluate on the turn. Turn: Board does not get any better and he bets strongly again. At this point, I decide that I can't play a big pot with KK. Comments pls? Re: $25NL - FR: Lost w KK on scary board
I would have raised the flop bet.
As played, I don't know that I could fold the turn. I would call and re-evaluate river. |

Re: $25NL - FR: Lost w KK on scary board
The overbet on the flop leads me to think Villian has a hand vulnerable to draws, like AQ. Or he has a crappy draw himself. I would reraise big here.
I call this turn, if the river isnt an 8 or a flush card (maybe ace too), I probably call, but that may be bad. |

Re: $25NL - FR: Lost w KK on scary board
Based on all the background information you gave us I really don't see how you can fold to this turn bet here. He could have some sort of combo draw, Q, or even put you on a flush draw. I would tend to call the turn here and see what he does on the river.
I pot the flop, but as played I would play the turn as a call. |
