NL10 - KQs - Let the shortstack take over?
UTG was unknown... SB was, too (in fact SB doesn't even show up in my db for some reason, hrmm).
PokerStars $0.05/$0.10 No-Limit Hold'em - 5 players Hand Converter Tool from DeucesCracked.com BB: $10.00 UTG: $4.15 CO: $3.10 Button: $6.75 SB: $10.05 Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls $0.10, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls $0.05, <font color="#FF0000">Hero raises to $0.50</font>, UTG calls $0.40, SB calls $0.40. Flop: ($1.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> SB checks, <font color="#FF0000">Hero bets $1.25</font>, UTG calls $1.25, SB folds. After he called the bet and I looked at his stack I saw he had $2.40 left. He called the bet so I thought if I bet it might scare him into a fold. I'll check and see if he bets it... Turn: ($4.00) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#FF0000">UTG bets $1.20</font>, Hero calls $1.20. He did, goodie! I thought about min-raising him all-in here, but I thought I'd see what happened on the river. River: ($6.40) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#FF0000">UTG bets $1.20 (all in)</font>, Hero calls $1.20. Final Pot: $8.80 Cool, he bet it all-in. Was this too passive? Should I have bet earlier? |

Re: NL10 - KQs - Let the shortstack take over?
Just shove the turn, he'll call off his stack with a draw but might take a free card and fold it on the river. People are more likely to put it in on the turn than the river because on the turn there is always hope, on the river there is finality.

Re: NL10 - KQs - Let the shortstack take over?
Hmm, that was kind of an easy answer.. What about this one...
Villain was playing rather laggy, about 62/13/2.24 and the deck has been really nice to him on the turn and river. PokerStars $0.05/$0.10 No-Limit Hold'em - 6 players Hand Converter Tool from DeucesCracked.com CO: $11.55 Button: $15.95 SB: $11.75 BB: $9.25 UTG: $10.00 MP: $11.20 Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, MP folds, <font color="#FF0000">Hero raises to $0.40</font>, Button folds, SB calls $0.35, BB folds. Flop: ($0.90) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> <font color="#FF0000">SB bets $0.40</font>, <font color="#FF0000">Hero raises to $1.20</font>, SB calls $0.80. Turn: ($3.30) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> SB checks, <font color="#FF0000">Hero bets $3</font>, SB calls $3. River: ($9.30) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> SB checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: $9.30 |

Re: NL10 - KQs - Let the shortstack take over?
Against a laggy opponent, you might do better to check the turn and call a river to snap off a bluff. Against a passive opponent, your line is better.

Re: NL10 - KQs - Let the shortstack take over?
first hand, turn is fine, i'd lead the river though, just run the clock down a little though.
second one, i disagree with wookie, your turn line is prefect vs both types of player at this level, only you'd be better off betting the river vs a passive calling station, maybe 1/3 pot or something small. |
