Do we bet or check this turn?
PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 5 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls. Flop: (6.33 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls. Turn: (4.66 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, UTG checks, Hero ???? Normally I'd bet there in a heartbeat, but the more I think about this, the more I wonder if this should be a check. Briefly IMO, arguments for betting : Nut flush draw, gutshot straight and 2 overcards gives me a pretty strong hand. I have fold equity over high cards which may have called this far. Arguments for checking : I don't want to be check-raised without an actual hand, although I would have to call, I'd rather let someone else lead the river then raise if I hit. No idea about my opponents holdings, BB could have any 2, and utg may have either 2 high or a low pair which may have flopped a set. Please forgive any formatting errors, I'm still learning how to use them on here! |

Re: Do we bet or check this turn?
I am betting this out. Against just 2 opponents you may take down the pot right then and there. If not you have a 9 outs to the nuts and another 6 to a very good hand. I don't think there is much of a chance of a raise on this TURN. UTG probably has overs and BB may have hit one pair or have overs also. Either way I don't think you are getting raised very often.

Re: Do we bet or check this turn?
Easy bet.
It's ok to be c/r-ed, as you have an easy call and would've called two cold as well. It would be harder if you just had AKo. In that case, you can't really fold either when c/r-ed because of the straight draw with two good overs, but you would not have called two cold. That particular hand in this particular case I would check. There are many, many variables influencing whether you should continue betting the turn or not. The formatting is fine: good job. |

Re: Do we bet or check this turn?
i tend to bet this because of our equity + fold equity

Also because of position.

Re: Do we bet or check this turn?
You also still might have the best hand.
I'd bet the turn as you're probably about even money on it given all the outs, fold equity and possibility of still being in the lead. Only really affects your variance but is nice for the image. If c/r'ed, call and fold the river UI. I wouldn't be raising the river if a 5 hits. b |
