Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
[ QUOTE ]
you have an enormous amount of equity on this flop but if the turn bricks then it plummets - youre looking to get as much in as possible when your equity is at a max and before an obvious scare card comes and kills your action. that said im not pushing here, i make a PSRR and call a push. Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
[ QUOTE ]
To all people 3betting this flop what do you do if he flat calls and you brick on turn ?): [/ QUOTE ] IF we call the flop raise, we are not committed to to the hand. IF we 3 bet to 15++ we are committed. I think that our decision is made before we even play the turn. Pretty much we have to shove the turn on any card if we 3 bet the flop. Folding the turn after 3 betting is pretty bad since we have put in 1/3 of our stack (commitment threshold). Shoving seems pretty bad when we miss on the turn since our equity has dropped significantly and I am not sure the FE makes up for our lack of pot odds. So cant we just call the flop raise and reevaluate the turn? +EV Edited for readability. |

Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
The only thing I would do differently is re-raise the flop to get more equity in and to remain the aggressor. On the non-event turn card I would, like you did, have checked. I would become passive on the turn and simply call his bet. If the river bricks I would check and call a small bet, hoping that the Jacks hold up.

Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
No one has said he could possible have Q10 for the nuts, where we still have like 45% equity. Given that, and the fact that we have 40% equity even against the tightest of ranges (set) I see no reason to not get as much money as possible in on this flop.

Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
We have a huge equity on flop, we want to get the monies in. We must raise.
A lot of people think that it is worse when we get only most of the monies in on flop and are forced to call more on turn. There is, however, a second truth. Villain is committed too and when we get enough money in on the flop, in practice we are all in because both of us are committed. The situation might be even better in some cases, we might save some marginal money when we missed and checked it down. The drawing situations, where there is some heavy commitments on both sides, tend to favor the drawing hand I believe. |

Re: 50NL How do I play my MP and Big draw
raise preflop. re-raise flop and don't be afraid to get it all in there.
