50NL Toss AK?
Villain running 16/8/3, however, I feel like I'm losing to almost all of his range here. But is folding too weak?

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
i'd probably donk the flop and fold to a raise, but check/folding sounds fine as well.
you're beating JJ, which i don't even think he'd reraise vs an EP raise. so the best thing you can hope for is another AK? |

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
I like b/f here, since it may help identify whether this is a c-bet or a show of strength. As played ... meh. Depending on mood and feel, fold 50%, call 25%, r/r 25%.

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
Seems dumpable I guess. You're OOP and there aren't really any cards that could come that would make you feel all that comfortable.

Yeah B/F the flop and you don't really have to second guess it too much.

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
4bet to $20 or fold preflop if you are c/f top top.

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
b/f > c/c > c/f.
he's 16/8/3, which may change this to b/f > c/f, things around, but i play AQ the same. If he doesn't 3-bet light, then this is an easy fold, but if you raise light, and he's playing at you, no way you can let this go. |

4bet to $20 or fold preflop if you are c/f top top. [/ QUOTE ]There is a difference between c/f a KQ flop and a K high flop (no queen) or an A high flop. Having both the K and the Q on this flop means that we are behind two more hands in villains range than if it were a naked K, so you cannot look at a c/f here and say "fold this pf if you are going to fold top top". Or to say it differently, not all top top flops are the same. |

Re: 50NL Toss AK?
BTW, I think bet/folding here is not good. I think we either commit to getting it all in or we fold without putting another dime in. I think we are behind villain's range, so c/f is best.

I don't think KQ is really that much of a part of his range, but I agree with your general point. If this guys range is JJ+AK/AK-AQ then we aren't good on this flop. We are behind AA/KK/QQ and ahead of AQ. I agree that this flop is worse than if the from was K62 but I think it would still be unprofitable to call preflop, given the stack sizes, even if the flop was K62. I think 4-betting this when this guys range is mostly big pairs and AKo is spew though. I also agree that b/f isn't a very good spot here. If you can't call a bet getting those good of odds then your first bet wasn't positive EV in the first place. |
