fun with 74o
Live 12 game.
Main villain in this game is decent, but too laggy pre-flop and calls down too much post-flop. She's not the kind of player that will limp in with a crappy A - instead she'll usually raise or fold it. Like most laggy players, her aggression levels go down with each street. She's views me as a straighforward TAG. PF: some bad / loose players limp, villain limps, decent player limps behind her, SB folds, I check my option in the BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players, 5 SB) everyone checks to villain who bets, LP folds, I check-raise, everyone folds to villain who calls. Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 4.5 BB) I bet, villain calls. River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 6.5 BB) I check, planning to fold to a bet... eh? |

Re: fun with 74o
If she isn't limping in with Ax suited here after a few limpers, she isn't playing well. Yes she doesn't have AJ+, but we are behind a lot more.
On a flop like this from the BB, I usually call flop, and check and see how turn goes. If they still bet, then we can fold and who cares, we didn't invest too much into a small pot with a very very marginal holding. If they check behind, we can now put them on a flush draw, and check/call river unless a club comes. All these are based on being unimproved of course. Stop trying to get into a large pot with a very marginal holding. Even if villain has 9cTc or some other big two club hand, you aren't pushing them off of it, even if they spike a random pair on the river. They will glance at the large pot, and shrug their shoulders and call. |
