is this a standard 4-bet preflop? I think I would call in this spot if this were somehow an online game. Are the live games so loose and fishy that you can do this? I may be missing out on PF value when I play live

Possibly the "dope" describes the origin of the money on the table.

I hear Jimmy Chagra was good times.

i would make it 4700-5200 but as played i would just jack it in for most value vs 99-QQ and less scare cards and the fact that it'll confuse the [censored] out of him when you crai as the preflop 4-bettor

In these deep live games, I've seen guys double cold call with hands like AQ, AJ, ATs. It is reasonable he has an A, but at the same time I think he has an A or air so if I'm continuing with this hand which I probably am given villain's description I'm calling and checking turn and river planning on calling a shove.

I don't see the point of raising here at all, just call him down. If he has the Ace, so be it. Given that the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] is already on the flop we don't really need to protect against a flush, so he either has 2 outs or we do, and we're not folding.

Not sure how much we can generalize but the description of the reraiser certainly makes me prepared to get as much in preflop as possible.
