Default MGM Grand at Foxwoods - update

Update: MGM Grand at Foxwoods hired an advertising agency today, does anyone know if they have broken ground yet? SKG is the agency, based in Vegas.

NICE.. this probably means they are within 6 months from opening, of course I'm just taking an educated guess.

There was a lot of construction on route 2 today. Hopefully they have the sense to make it a 2 lane road going to Foxwoods.

Sadly, I doubt it. Right by the casino they are, but I don't think there's really enough room to expand the whole length of the road without moving houses/businesses.

yoda's right, they're building an overpass so people don't have to turn left to get in and out of the new building.

It already is a 2 lane road and it sucks terribly. They'd be better off going to a 4 lane mini-highway

100% correct they are buiding a bypass road so that anyone traveling Rt. 2 in either direction will not have to worry about cars entering/exiting casino. This will probably be finished the end of next yr. Bad news is it is only going to be a little past two trees hotel and the other end near Dunkin donuts. Still will be a cluster [censored] tho coming in no matter what they do. It will be years before Rt. 2 will ever be 2 lanes wider from either 95(North Stonington side) side or the other way from Norwich. Too much money and too many stubborn people. A while back they were talking about buiding a road that would directly connect 95, 395, and Foxwoods to make it easier on the local towns on cars traveling to both casinos. Havent heard anything lately so my guess that will be years if it ever happens.

As for the opening they are aiming for the spring but it is not in stone yet. Right now its just a race between them and Mohegan on whose expansion is finished first.

Isn't the Mohegan expansion not supposed to be complete until 2010? I know the poker room is set to open next year, but I think the hotel, etc., are coming later.
