Re: QQ against big bet on the river
bet flop potsize, bet turn potsize and get it all in on the river.
Don't be afraid of a flush on a monotone board, they are very unlikely |

Re: QQ against big bet on the river
Bet, bet, bet.
Donks at micro limits love slowplaying their flopped flushes but they also love to chase them so you might just get some value out of them. |

ty, but it turned out, that he called with 86 of spades [/ QUOTE ] It doesn't matter how it turned out. You couldn't possibly have known this at the time during the hand. Based on your opponents' ranges of possible hands, a bet was probably correct on all three streets. |

ty, but it turned out, that he called with 86 of spades [/ QUOTE ] Doesn't matter. Try not to be results oriented, and focus on correct play. Pre-flop: QQ is not strong enough that you want to go up against 4 or 5 opponents. Raise more, I'd say from .40-.60 depending on the game. Flop: Absolutely must C_bet here, at least half the pot. If you get called, you might be correct is assuming you are behind. If you get raised, you should be pretty damn sure you're behind. Turn: Trips. Bet for value, to get money out of your opponents, to drive out weaker hands, for so many reasons you need to bet here. River: As played, you might as well call, but you really have no idea where you are here. You preflop raise, followed by checks on the flop and river make you look like you have absolutely nothing and make stealing the pot attractive to even the most naive player. |

Re: QQ against big bet on the river
I'd make it .4 pre-flop.
I'm fine with the flop check. Bet the turn....your hand is huge. You are almost 40% even if someone already has a flush (that isn't the nutflush). And they could have a ton of other holdings. On the river ah it's a pretty big overbet so I guess maybe just call, but we really have no idea what he has. DON'T BE RESULTS ORIENTED. Just cause he had a flush here doesn't mean that he always or even usually has a flush in this situation. And it doesn't mean that you played this hand correctly by not betting. |
