I can't believe you all do not like the Maggiano's. A chain yea but not an Olive Garden.

I cant believe you would go to Vegas with the intention of eating at a chain.

Terra Rosa is very good... I second that! Red Rock poker room is worth checking out as well.

I don't know about "best in Vegas", but the best I have had (don't usually do Italian in Vegas) is probably Mimmo Ferraro's, a ways west of the strip on Flamingo. I had a very nice veal osso bucco there, and it was a nice, cozy environment.

Bautistas is not good. Do not eat there. Bautistas is on par with Buca Di Beppo, both of which make Olive Garden seem gourmet.

BTW if you do not want to break the bank, and think Olive Garden is teh nuts as far as Italian food goes, there is a chain called Fellinis in Strat and I think Texas Station that is ok.

Also BTW, my brothers father in law owns a well reviewed Italian restaurant in Santa Monica and he recommended a place in the Venetian. Unfortunately I don't remember what it was called.

Seriously. In defence of Olive Garden though at least their breadsticks/salad are solid. Maggiano's everything is overpriced A La Carte.

It's a bit off the strip, but Rosemary's is fantastic. I found out about it from chowhound.com a message board dedicated to good eats.

Plus, on Sunday nights they had 1/2 price bottles of wine
