$1.2 AQ, call after raise?
Was this call correct?
The raiser had played 40% of the hands so far, but had not raised preflop so far. Re: $1.2 AQ, call after raise?
i play it the same. i would fold if villian opened from EP, but in a 1.2 i'm guessing you should be calling most preflop raises with AQ.

Re: $1.2 AQ, call after raise?
Totally fine in a $1. The 4BB raise from the hijack is usually a hand they are scared of (A-middle, KQ, or mid pair), so smooth calling here from the button and seeing a flop is a good play. If you hit an A or a Q, you have a good chance of doubling through villain. He'll be especially likely to stack off since he's 2:1 outchipping you and won't give you credit for AQ since you didn't 3bet preflop.

I prefer a push preflop

Re: $1.2 AQ, call after raise?
How did you lose so many chips so early ?
120 is too much to call for your stack. I'd push. |

I prefer a push preflop [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this. Since youve got <1000, pushing seems best. Simply calling is probably the worst option. |

Re: $1.2 AQ, call after raise?
No 120/955 which is like 1/8th of your stack so call preflop/ fold flop is really bad.
Add the blinds and there are 165 in the pot which are really good to your stack. push >> call |

Also until L4, I really think AQ should be your absolute cutoff to consider playing except in special situations. Look at your $1.2 tournament histories and see what level the bubble starts at and how many blinds you need to pay if you just folded to get there. |
