Article on Poker Tournament Evaluations. Online adjustments?
Is there any adjustment for using this for an online tournament?
For example, the common PokerStars tournament format is: 1500/30= 50M beginning stack After hour 1: 1200/225(stack/cost of level 5)= 5.33 Would these standard PokerStar tournaments fall into the No-Skill Lottery category by Dene Tribe's definition? Thanks much.-MrG |

Re: Article on Poker Tournament Evaluations. Online adjustments?
Online is running at around twice the speed as live play (around 70 hands per hour) so 30 minutes of online play is equal to 1 hour live. This would equate to rating the normal pokerstars as a 9M after 30 minutes. The great thing about online is you play the type that you like from the Pokerstars Turbo Super Fast To The Super Stack High Skill events

Also of interest in this area is the slower tourneys such as the $109 which starts with 3000 chips and 15 Min Blinds
The 30 Min M is 38 and the 1 hour M is 11 which when you compare this to live casino tourneys you are normally looking at buy-ins of $500 plus and sometimes much higher The pokerstars Sunday Warm up and Sunday million offer a similiar structure. They start with more chips 10,000 but blind values get bigger quicker which rates a 32M at 30 Minutes and a 1 hour M of 14. I wonder if a full study of the different internet offerings on the major sites would be of interest to tournament players? |
