Hilton Las Vegas - Hilton no more?
I just saw this quote from the Las Vegas Review Journal. Does this mean the Hilton's right to the name expires next year?
[ QUOTE ] The $18.5 billion buyout of the Hilton Hotels Corp. by the Blackstone Group does not affect the Las Vegas Hilton, which is owned by a joint-venture partnership led by Los Angeles-based Colony Capital. Colony Capital signed a licensing agreement to continue using the Hilton brand until 2008. [/ QUOTE ] link |

Re: Hilton Las Vegas - Hilton no more?
It seems that Paris Hilton has so sullied the Hilton brand name that they will now be known as the Barry Bonds Hotel chain.

Does anyone really care about the Hilton? I know I don't. Last time I was there was 1987 for the two Tyson title fights.

Re: Hilton Las Vegas - Hilton no more?
This is a standard thing in franchising; Strictly means that his operating agreement is expiring and a new deal needs to be struck. That being said, it is possible they could go with a different operator...but highly unlikely.
