Key points:

1. As some of us guessed, Tom Grant admits that the art imex biz he entered into with Phil Laak was really a front for heroin smuggling.

2. Grant admits that he intentionally ripped-off Laak in a heroin smuggling deal and that is precisely why Laak put out the hit on Grant and his wife.

*TT* got mad at me for posting Laak's parents' info on this thread. I'd like to point out a couple things:

(1) Laak's parents' contact info is readily available from any number of free white pages websites

(2) Laak's parents have been bailing him out of trouble for decades and consequently they have a lot to answer for. There are a number of credible sources that point to Laak's criminal past as a thief, card cheat, con man, and drug dealer/smuggler. If any of this is true, Laak's behavior hurts all of us.

This changes everything.

Usually one knows not to rip off their drug partner/supplier. Did the dude expect to be sent a thank you card along w/ a box of roses for ripping him off? The fact that he'd be so surprised is what's really mind boggling. He probably just saw Laak as some sucker to be had, gambled that he could get away with it with no recourse, and almost learned the hard way. He's lucky that hitman wasn't a total [censored] stranger, and it is obvious what his intentions now are.
