Is Crystal Casino safe?
Hey I just moved to LA about a month ago.
I want to check out Crystal Casino but all I know about it is that it is in Compton. Is it safe to go there? Getting there, parking, etc? Is it even worth going? Thanks, |

during the day it is but not during nights, its safer to go to Commerce or Pechanga, I would not waste my time going to that dump.

Aren't all of these places safe enough if you valet your car, use a box if you play big, and make sure you don't get tailed home? |

Re: Is Crystal Casino safe?
Safe? Yes.
Is there any reason to go to that shithole and play with the rudest players and the worst dealers on the planet? Not when HG and Hustler are five minutes away. |

Commerce (the city) is not at all like Compton. Crystal Casino is hte shittiest place around. Although of the 3 in the south central area, Hustler is the nicest, but ghetto none the less. Just stick tyhe Bike and Commerce.

[/ QUOTE ] It's an industrial/business area with zero foot traffic. It's not a bad hood because there isn't really a hood there to be bad. I think the nearest housing from the casino is like a mile away, not counting the hotels. Lots of concrete tilt up warehouses and light manufacturing, and a fair ammount of redevelopment. There is absolutely nothing within a half a mile of Commerce except for the McDonalds to the south and the outlet mall in what used to be the old Firestone Tire plant to the north. But why would you walk to either place? This is LA, nobody walks anywhere - for a reason. My wife has bought fabric from a number of busineses within a mile from Commerce over the past 15 years. Never a problem and she's afraid of spiders. I can't think of a good reason to play at Crystal Park. |

Re: Is Crystal Casino safe?
Seems like every week we get a question about the safety of LA area casinos. Must be a wonderful place to live.
LA, WE LOVE IT |

Re: Is Crystal Casino safe?
I think it's partially because the neighborhoods that will allow zoning for a card room tend to not be the greatest, and partially a function of the need for a appropriate building of a certain size that you can get approval from the planing commission.
You notice nobody is dying to build a casino in Beverly Hills, but Hollywood Park has been/is in the process to be sold to a developer in Inglewood - not the greatest neighborhood. If somebody wanted to get wealthy, they'd find a way to build a casino in Monterey Park. And I'd move in there...... If you're really afraid of getting rolled, play online. Wonder what the responder to my post wrote that was bad enough to get him banned and the thread deleted? Owell. |
