Pretty obvious, right.....
2/4 NL on FTP (6 handed).
BN seems fairly bad/passive. Has been making alot of small bets into pots but steadily raising his stack. Table seems to be playing passive which is allowing him to play this style. I have been extremely card dead up till now but I doubt if he pays attention to that. Effective stacks are $400. Folded to BN who limps. I raise to $20 out of the SB with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BN calls. ($44) Flop comes 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet $35 and BN calls. ($114) Turn is J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. My line is an auto ..... |

i would also check and prob fold [/ QUOTE ] Is a bet/fold terrible? I mean giving up the pot to a limper who will probably stab the turn w/ anything seems a lil weak, particularly when we have "top-top". |

[/ QUOTE ] betting you're not going to get called by a worse hand ever, so it's spew. c/c has some merit vs. people who float with anything but i would usually c/f. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, even if he doesn't have the T he's too likely to have some kind of 2-pair or set on this board. |

Irish Mafia,
Name some hands that he may have that are either calling a bet or betting himself that we beat.... |

Irish Mafia, Name some hands that he may have that are either calling a bet or betting himself that we beat.... [/ QUOTE ] Well KQ is one hand that he may call a bet that we beat. As for hands he would bet himself that we beat, there are lots - I mean he could've been floating intending to take away the pot on the turn (since you raised limpers from OOP in the blinds, he KNOWS you are going to cb ANY flop). For instance he could've called the flop w/ 33, putting you on AK - but now sees the board getting scary enough to just decide to bluff away. I guess more reads on villain would help - but you specifically said he's been making small stabs at pots... to me, that means he could stab at the pot on the turn w/ anything. And i'm not saying that bet-fold is the right play (i'm trying to learn from this thread as well) - I just think that check-folding to a villain who a) limped; b) has been stabbing at lots of pots; and c) probably does not necessarily give us credit for tptk; just "feels" weak. I know he could easily have two pair or a straight - but check-folding just seems ugly. I guess this is why position is everything. |
