Phi Ivey - his Plans and Strategies.
I found this quote in the archives.
"I saw an interview with Phil Ivey once, and he said that he doesn't sit down with a plan or a strategy - he just adapts..." Does anyone know if Ivey actually said this? It seems like a mighty good plan and strategy. |

Re: Phi Ivey - his Plans and Strategies.
If you have a set strategy or plan prior to sitting at a given table (not knowing any of the players) then you're not a good poker player in most cases.

Your strategy should be to play the ideal game theoretical techniques until you begin to understand the way your opponents are playing. |

Ok, I'm saying like ppl that say "I'm gonna be real aggressive tonight" or "I'm just going to sit back and wait for the cards to come to me tonight" prior to playing a session. Catch my drift?

Unless they believe that each strategy is exactly equal for any group of opponents (which is pretty daft in itself). |

In fact, I remember doing it at one point early on. I still know ppl that do it EVERYTIME they goto the casino. Some ppl just fail to realize that there are no absolutes in this game and every table/session is different. |
