Default weird deposit request on UB

So I just tried to deposit on UB via check card. They told me over the phone(after verifying ID) that i needed to reenter all the deposit info and try again for $1 more or less than I just tried. Does this sound shady or what?

It's a little odd, yes...Did they say what the problem was or how this would help? Did they call you or did you call them? You might want to change your password just in case.

Exact same thing happened when I deposited, no big deal I think it is standard and I did not get double charged.

This makes sense to me. If you retried, using the same amount, it might be viewed as a duplicate request and get denied again. Using a different amount avoids this possibility.
