How in the world do you scrape the inside of your forearms?

[/ QUOTE ]

i dont see what is so hard to understand about me getting rubbing burn/scrape on the insides of my forearms cuz they rub along my pants when i lower the bar...i have been pulling with a shoulder width stance and have my hands just outside of legs, and i don't wear skin tight clothes so they rub...

Drop the bar.

I think most people set their hands outside of their body and not in front.

But don't use straps, and don't let your hips rise before your shoulders, also you'll notice how there is some "slack" in the bar before he pulls up. There should be some amount of tension on the bar before you pull. I don't really know how to explain this last part as well.

I was gonna say take the sandpaper out your tool-belt-- now I'm thinking just take the whole tool-belt off.

Other idea. Put a little bit of vaseline on your forearms when you lift until you're healed? It will get on your shorts so select your shorts accordingly.

That's a bit of a stumper, because it seems like if the distance between your hands (or heels) was a 1/4" more (less) you might not have a problem, and certainly at 1/2". I don't know, but vaseline is good for repetitive friction rash type injuries in other sports.

how do you all do higher reps sets of dls?

[/ QUOTE ]

I usually just briefly pause after I lower the weight and then repeat. I generally don't release my grip.

any suggestions of pants to wear when pulling?

i scrape right above my knee/bottom of quad and sometimes my shins when i lower the weight, its leaving me small scars/cuts and it sucks...any way to avoid this?

[/ QUOTE ]

I wear old sweatpants (now full of holes) and a cheap pair of shin guards.

where are your legs in relation to the knurling on the bar? Mine are inside the knurling.

I also do my sets like you, stand up between each rep. It helps me focus on form, I'm pretty sure it would suck balls if I didn't.
