If your going to live in Vancouver I would advise living there in summer or early fall when the weather is excellent. Don't expect to see much of the sun during the rest of the year.

For what you are thinking of paying in Barcelona over this period (3 months) you would be able to get a fairly fantastic sub-rental flat or AT LEAST a room in a sub-rental flat.
Check, for example, loquo.com to get a vague idea.
Hostel's are in general pretty nasty imo, but also LOTS of theft and I would not, if it were me, set up my computer etc there.
Also, if you are going to be in Barcelona in August, I assume you are going to go to the EPT kickoff starting August 28 at the Casino in Barcelona.
I have a close friend who can likely hook you up w/a flat - pm me if you'd like.

I have come up with a new rule where I am only going to try to live in places where it is currently summer or spring. I will have to find a way to continue skiing somehow though.

Yes, that does matter. Can you not access it from there (like the USA) or can you just not create an account with that address?

Edit: On this account because I donīt have access to any of my passwords.

I sent you a PM but the biggest problem with proper leases is that I am a tourist.

From apartmentsbondibeach.com I received a quote of $8,900 AU or $7,700 US for the stay or about $1,925 US per month. This is for a fairly nice studio about 500m from the beach. I am exploring other, better options, but I can always fall back on this.

What are peopleīs thoughts about renting a scooter in Australia to get to and from Sydney as well as getting around? I was looking at it for Barcelona and found some places where I could rent one for about $250 US per month which would probably be worth it.

Goodbye Thailand. Was nice knowing you. I'll still be coming to visit for a week or two while I'm living in Australia, but no way I'm living there.

I think the new plan is something like this:

Dec 28th - May 1st: Live in Bondi Beach, Australia
May 3rd - May 10th: Party Poker Million VI leaving from Venice, Italy
May 11th - May 18th: Visit Venice, Italy
May 19th - August 3rd: Live in Barcelona, Spain
August 4th - Augusut 10th: Visit Reykjavik, Iceland
August 11th - August 18th: Visit New York, NY
August 19th - October 25th: Live in Vancouver, Canada
October 26th - November 9th: Visit California
November 10th - Mid-Feburary: Back to Australia or Argentina

The basic plan is to spend about 4 months a year in Australia, 4 months a year in Argentina, 3 months a year in some part of Europe, and then the other month in transit and in the states. I'm going to have to get the weather averages and nail down when is exactly the best time to be everywhere. This also assumes I like Australia as much as I think that I will. We'll see and of course subject to yet more revision.
