Most X-outs are literally just a normal ProV1 that poor people can buy. The pro's all use these at the range for events and they are in perfect condition when they get them. It is true that they are illegal for use in USGA events, but all "X-Outs" are illegal just because there may be a blemish on the ball. [/ QUOTE ] This is actually a myth. I work at the driving range of the Wachovia Championship for the last three years and the balls used by players on the driving range have a big P imprinted on the ball they are sent back to Titeleist cleaned and repaired and sent back out to them for another tournament.

While still a great deal, I'd say two, maybe three have gashes in them to the extent that I won't play them. Still, that's 9 ProV1s for 12 bucks. Good deal.

[/ QUOTE ] well, it's easy to look at all of the clear plastic packaging and pick the box that is in the best shape....and it's also easy to open a box or two and mix and match your very own custom dozen.
