$50nl: read allows large overbet on river?
Villain is like 75/5/0. I have been raising his limps and Cbetting him all day long. He calls w/ any piece but folds when he misses. When he hits, he c/c's all the way. Then this hand came up.
Given the read, what do you think? Absolute Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players UTG has ~$58 HERO w/ around $75 Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG calls, Hero raises to $2.5, 4 folds, UTG calls. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($5.75, 2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $4, UTG calls. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($13.75, 2 players) UTG checks, Hero checks. River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($13.75, 2 players) UTG bets $3.5, Hero raises all-in $68.14, Edited to include stack sizes.. Re: $50nl: read allows large overbet on river?
DK u move up to 50NL? This is Crazysamson btw. I like the line. A villian like this def. isn't folding a straight, maybe not even a 7. A smaller raise might bring more hands along, but I really think against this guy this is how you get max value out of him.

I agree. Given your read I'd say he go for it.

I play between 25 and 50nl usually. Depends on how I am feeling and how the bankroll is doing. Thanks for the comment.
BTW, your AP nickname is quite the misnomer.. lol |

Re: $50nl: read allows large overbet on river?
stack sizes would be nice.
The check turn is good for a river bluff by him. I doubt he calls any raise on the river because his bet looks like a cheap bluff to take the pot down. |

Lol very true. I've been working on loosening up more but it's a long and arduous journey.

Re: $50nl: read allows large overbet on river?
Was editing my post as you made yours sir. Don't forget that this villain is not aggressive whatsoever, therefore I didn't really check the turn to induce a bluff as much as control the pot, since I expect he would have a straight there a lot. With his one pair and two pair hands, he would call another bet on the river anyway.
Even though his bet on the river was small, it suggested that he had a hand he was willing to go broke with IMO, given that his aggression is so low. He is not the type of player to try a bluff on a scary board. Thanks for your comments. |

Re: $50nl: read allows large overbet on river?
I'd just bet the turn and build a pot. Sure, there's a 4 straight on the board, but it's really unlikely the 6 made a straight for any hand but 87.
Especially given villain description, I would bet this all the way. |
