1. is a 3bet PF okay here? IMO people tend not to call large 3bets PF (and it would be, considering the number of limpers. if yes, how large?
2. as played, is the rest ok?</font>

Preflop: Hero is dealt 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)

Are you folding because you're afraid that UTG will put in a large check-raise?

1. A PF 3 bet to 18-20 is fine sometimes with the right image and table conditions.

2. I usually fold, but I guess a fold isn't bad here. You are getting 3.73 to 1 and need 4+ to 1 to break even with immediate odds and there's no reason to think you have very much implied odds considering CO just called a very small bet on the flop and bet very small on the turn.

Also, you're not closing the action.

Flop and turn are ok. Preflop I don't know if a squeeze play would have been good here, but reraising to around 18 in these spots in position can be a very good play.

I don't really like a 3bet pre because I think you will be called to much by CO and BTN, the passive players at these small stakes tend to call 3-bets lightly. And on the flop you would be left OOP with not to good fold equity (for the same reason, the passive players tend to call lightly). But if you knew the players better and knew they would often cold call and then fold to a 3-bet, or call with PP type hands and fold unhitted on the flop, obviously a 3-bet would be nice. If that were the case I would make the 3-bet about $17-19.

Flop if fine ofcourse, and I think a call on the turn will be profitable to. Because you have great direct odds and I think that it's a good chance CO have a monster, or one of them maybe got AJ to make two pair when you make your wheel. Anyway your imlied odds deffinitely make a call worthwhile.

Played fine on all streets IMO.

Turn is close, but since you're OOP and neither player has really shown any strength there's no reason to expect a big payoff on the river if you hit.

I call here.

Many opponents like to bet small on the flop/river, then when they "figure out" that they aren't beat (because nobody raised), they bet big on the river.

Since all of your outs are pretty disguised that happens a lot here. I bet your implied odds are decent enough to call here.

We have almost direct odds, all or outs are to the nuts and there is significant money behind. I would call the turn without much thought.

as it happens, i did call. river came a blank (7) and C-F. if Hero had hit, would a C-R or a donkbet be better? do you bet an A and C-R a 6 in this spot. at the time i didn't really try to put villain on a hand as he was offering me such good odds.
