HOH 3 to Cash Games
I'm reading HOH3 - really liking it.
I'm trying to decide how directly these concept tie to cash games. Basically, I think that as long as M's are high, the concepts should transfer pretty well. For example, Problem 29: Blinds = 1500/3000 SB = 400,000 stack, BB = 200,000 Folded to aggressive SB (Ivey) who raises to 3.5 BB. BB (you) have K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - you call another 8,000. Pot = 26,500. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB bets 16,000, BB calls. Pot = 58,500 Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets 35,000, BB pushes. Given the same variables, is this still a good line in cash games? |

Re: HOH 3 to Cash Games
Sure, you just picked up a bunch more outs here on the turn, and it is a big semi-bluff move that can often take the pot down right there.

I guess my basic question is do all the HOH 3 problems apply to cash games unless their are short stacks involved? IOW, does a play like this semi-bluff hand have the same fold equity in cash games and tournies given all other factors are equal? Or is there a rule of thumb for identical situations like FE(tourney) = FE(cash) + x% ? |

Re: HOH 3 to Cash Games
66 BBs isn't very much.
In a cash game, where there isn't pressure to accumulate because of escalating blinds, I would fold the suited K pre-flop. However, if I had 300,000 I may very well call. I don't know, I just don't think there is much value in suited kings that are easily dominated hands. |

You're not all that likely to be dominated at all. You have one king! That cuts how many combos with kings he can have. |
