2/4NL 6max. Can I find a fold on this river?
Bear with me here but i dont have the handhistory for this hand but I found it to be the most interesting one of my latest session.
Villain openraises a lot of pots and seems to be your typical LAG. Havent played that many hands with him so it's kind of hard to give a good description. I think he knows I like to play a lot of hands. Effective stacks is a little bit over 400 I raise 6c4c utg to 11 and get reraised by utg+1 another 25. Everyone folds and i call. Flop comes: Ac 8s 9c (80 in pot) I check and call 68. Turn comes 7s I check again with the intention of checkraising allin. He checks behind River is 5s and I now have the straight. Pot is ~220 I tank it a bit and bet 100, he moves allin for another 220 pretty quickly. Can i put him squarely on AK-ATss and make the fold or do I call thinking that he is either bluffing or valueraising a worse hand?? |

no you cannot fold this river, there's no chance he is gonna put you on a six anyhow

I could see him playing TJs this way if he noticed you have been playing weak hands oop. Your bet looks like a blocking bet though, so I think you've got to call even though there is a decent chance you're behind.

Check raise the flop, bet more preflop. I think the river can be a fold, but its close.

If you make this very small river bet it should be with the intention of inducing a bluff IMO. Your hand looks a lot like AQ fwiw and he could try pushing you off of it with a lot of holdings.

[ QUOTE ]
Check raise the flop, bet more preflop. I think the river can be a fold, but its close. [/ QUOTE ] Do you always have to checkraise because you flop a flushdraw? And the bet more preflop I dont agree at all with (atleast not for me), I consider my biggest strength to be the play postflop and raising small preflop I can almost always take a reraise and see a flop. |
