Re: Any thoughts on some higher level plays for full ring NL400 and ab
[ QUOTE ]
NL1k is supposedly a lot softer than NL400 on Full Tilt. [/ QUOTE ] There are some strange players there but 400nl has plenty of fish too. |

Re: Any thoughts on some higher level plays for full ring NL400 and ab
I've recently started playing some NL400 at Stars. I have a very small sample, but I've been shocked at how passive the games have been, especially preflop. Again, it's only about 3000 hands, so I'm sure it's been lucky table selection.
Regarding the original post, I agree with tightening up for a while to change your image. Also, I recently read an excellent post on 2+2 about being 3 bet often. In short, they suggested an excellent way to combat this is to 4 bet with hands you don't really want to be called with. With your very strong hands, call the 3 bet and CRAI on the flop. |

Re: Any thoughts on some higher level plays for full ring NL400 and ab
You need to pay close attention and start observing them back, frankly, and build up your own reads.
I haven't played 400 for a while, but i used to change gear in a session if I started getting 3-bet or obv outplayed by someone with reads on my approach in that session. I'd swap between a tight approach with a tag-early/loose-late with a full Lag approach at a ratio of something like 8/1/1. You will find bouncing from tight to loose gives you the positives of a loose player with a tight image and vice versa. You have to know your strategies implicitly to do this properly (which you sound like you do). Only do this if you have to, it's better to figure out how to play the table first, and only do this if you have to confuse the enemies. |
