Default Re: What\'s in your bag?

I had all my clubs custom made about two to three years ago and only got to use them 5 times before my injury so they're a bit dated but in GREAT shape. I am just now getting back into the swing of things. I know there's more then 14 clubs listed but obviously different courses have different demands.

Driver - Mizuno Blue Rage 350 9* (I really miss my Orlimar 6* deep face)

Woods - Dunlop Surpass 3 and 5 wood, came with an old set I had Orlimar woods for a while but the shafts weren't stiff enough so I just went back to these for now.

Irons - 2 iron: Mizuno T-zoid Sure, 3-9 iron: Mizuno MP30

Wedges - PW: Mizuno MP37, SW: Mizuno MP 56-08, LW: Purespin diamond face 60*, HLW: Dunlop 64*

Putter - Dunlop surpass blade, I also have a left handed Silver Ray mallet putter that I use when I have putting problems.

OP. Those Titleist's look smooth. How would you compare them to other manufacturers forged blades? Playability, Feel, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would say Mizuno mp 14 would be the most similar blade that I've hit, but I have not actually tried many other forged blades. A friend had a set so I used his a few rounds, loved the look/feel of them, so I bought some. Poorly struck balls with these really thin blades are gonna feel like crap, and be further from the target than 90% of the other clubs out there. But when you do strike it solid it feels like butter and has a nice penetrating flight.

I was kinda hoping you mention the 14's. Played a few rounds with them years back in HS and loved them. I still routinely check Ebay for a good deal on them, but they always seem to be ridiculously worn out. This might be a good alternative. Thanks.

I use a Yes! Marylin putter and love the weight and balance of it. As for the "patented c-groove technology"... I'm not sure what it does if anything but my balls in general roll well off this thing.

The C Groove on the Yes! putters gets the ball rolling sooner, less skidding. I have a Yes! Olivia and I quite like it.

First post on a poker site is about golf, so it goes...

Driver - Ram FX9, hits it miles, only £40.
Woods 3,5,7 - Some really cheap Hippo ones off eBay.
Hybrid - Srixon AD 24deg, just got it, I'm in love....
Irons 5-SW - Lynx Black Cats, about 5-10years old.
Putter - Odyssey Tri-hot #1. Lovely, I just wish I was worthy.

Golf tomorrow, woo-hoo!
