Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/31) (5k PLO w/rebuys)

as someone who knows next to nothing about omaha, i found the coverage surprisingly entertaining. [/ QUOTE ] Makes perfect sense. Why did the WSOP have to emulate the WPT final table structures? |

I hated that fold also. The way the hand was played, I think he has to call the river.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/31) (5k PLO w/rebuys)
-I really didn't like how Devilfish whined and complained about his beats. C'mon bro, Omaha=Bad Beats. Just gotta roll w/ those punches.
-I wonder if every1 here woulda thought Juanda was silly if he actually DID jump into that huge 3-way AI. NOT being results oriented, when I saw the hands I said to myself, "Gimme that hand JJ, easily crack those AA hands since they can't improve much more." Even knowing that they are that strong, I do this all the time and it is a very successful "play". @ least break-even...hehehe -Lolz @ Boutin. What a character! |

as someone who knows next to nothing about omaha, i found the coverage surprisingly entertaining. [/ QUOTE ] I thought Norman Chad was quite good with his analysis. Chad was explaining the outs and percentages. The problems Chad has had with NL hold'em is what there's nothing to say about hold'em that we haven't already heard. Seems like this final table was playing faster. No 5 minute tanks. Less empty airtime. Chad wasn't required to fill in dead airtime with trivia. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/31) (5k PLO w/rebuys)
It's nice that the announcers are no longer sticking up for Humberto's [censored] antics. I dunno what was worse, Him flapping his gums and waving his shark with a short stack, or Devilfish in tears after a couple of lost 60-40s.
Burt is hilarious. "Can you get me a candy bar... or, a candy bar and some water? no, just a candy bar... yeah, a candy bar and milk." |

You can't fault Brenes as a poker player. I think his antics go to far at times but he's had more cashes over then last 2 years in the WSOP then anyone not named Hellmuth.

I don't understand why no one raises preflop deep in these PLO tournaments. It's not like anyone ever reraises preflop without aces anyway. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] half the table didn't even have 10 BBs. [/ QUOTE ] Omaha hands don't really define until the turn anyway. Until it gets shorthanded they prolly don't want to jam 1/3 of their stack. |
