Re: beginer question kk raised pot A on flop
people don't fold after making a 5x raise on the first hand of a small buy in tournament.
shove pf. as played you have 1 pot sized bet left. You need to win less than 1/3 of the time to make a call correct. I call his flop bet, check behind on the turn, and shove the river (i guess a river check is also acceptable.) |

Re: beginer question kk raised pot A on flop
I'm not really sure of the PF action. So some guy raised to 100, someone called, then you raised to 500 with KK from the button or CO and the first guy called?

Re: beginer question kk raised pot A on flop
yes sorry
I tried to use hand converter but didn t work don t really know why seems like an unrecognised file format or so so starting staks 1500 blinds 20 first hand 20$ tourney middle position open raise 100 late position call me button raise 500 early position thinks and call limper fold flop AT6 rainbow pot 1130 vilain bets 400 me ?? (I folded thinking it would commit me too much but I am weak at poker sorry if it seems very stupid) I though more often than not i am behind and the bet size was a bit low at those level where ppl tends to bet big with nothing and low with something ?? |

[/ QUOTE ] Glad you asked follow up questions because my response was not thorough. I said check behind the turn because he is always checking this turn. If he does bet then you have to call. What I am saying here is that pot odds are too good to not get your money in but if you shove outright then you might induce a fold from a hand that you beat and you will never get an ace to fold. If the positions were reversed then you should check call every street. Also, I suggested a pf shove because I think that your opponents will call. Shoving pf is more of a 'greedy' play then betting 500. |

Re: beginer question kk raised pot A on flop
I don't think folding to villain's donk bet is stupid...I haven't decided if I like it yet or not, but I certainly think it's a viable option.
I think I'd probably call his flop bet then fold if he shoved the turn. Villain donking the flop here is pretty odd, usually with an A wouldn't he check to you and let you bet then shove or call or whatever? It kinda looks like he's trying to get you to fold if you don't have an A. However, I can't imagine QQ or JJ or a drunk T betting the flop and the turn, so I suppose you can fold if he shoves the turn. |

Re: beginer question kk raised pot A on flop
a few more question if I may abuse your time and thank you for these advises
is a pf call ok with position while making a quick escape if an A flop loosing nearly nothing (hope I don t get trashed for suggesting that) the pots odds are good but it will commit more or less all my chips no? I wonder how often I am beaten I am too passive but I wouldn t bet without the ace or mabe KQ on this flop although I am not sure I would have reraised with AK clearly branding my hand as a pair inducing a bluff maybe ?) |
